GRIDLOCK — How to play

On a phone or tablet (Solo)

Tap SOLO SURVIVAL on the menu (tap the Chaos line to switch Chaos Mode).

  • Drag left / right — move the piece (it follows your finger)
  • Tap — rotate
  • Flick down — hard drop · drag down and hold — soft drop
  • Flick up or tap the FIRE button — fire your powerup

Upright (portrait) works best.

On a keyboard

Click the game first so it has the keyboard.

1 — Solo survival · 2 — Versus · 3 — Co-op · P — pause C (on the menu) — Chaos Mode on / off

Player 1: A / D move · W rotate · E rotate the other way · S soft drop · Space hard drop · Q fire powerup

Player 2: ← / → move · ↑ rotate · / rotate the other way · ↓ soft drop · Right Shift hard drop · Enter fire powerup

Modes

  • Solo — survive as long as you can; hazards hit you every ~25 s.
  • Versus — clearing 2+ rows (or chaining combos) sends junk rows to your rival. Last one standing wins.
  • Co-op — one extra-wide well. Player 1 drops on the left, Player 2 on the right, but you can both go anywhere: your falling pieces block each other, and your ghost shows in your colour. Shared score and powerup stash; hazards hit the team.

Powerups

Some blocks carry a spinning powerup. Clear its row (or blow it up) to collect it into your stash (3 slots). Fire it when the moment is right; the banner says what it does.

Chaos Mode: powerups fire the moment you collect them, and they show up far more often.

  • 💣 Detonator — charges, then blasts a crater in the top of your stack
  • ⚡ Chain Lightning — the blocks of your most common colour flicker, then get zapped
  • 🌀 Black Hole — eats all junk, and every block drops into the holes
  • ⏳ Slow-Mo — your pieces fall slower for 10 s
  • ☄️ Meteor Shower — rains junk on your rival
  • 🙃 Gravity Flip — turns your rival's well upside down for 8 s
  • ❄️ Freeze Ray — locks your rival's controls for 3.5 s
  • 🪞 Mirror — swaps your rival's left and right for 8 s
  • ⏩ Turbo — your rival's pieces fall 4× faster for 6 s

Solo and Co-op only find the powerups that help you; the nasty ones arrive as hazards.
